Following the Mazda MINAGI idea car that was revealed at this year's Geneva Motor Show, the
CX-5 becomes the first technology style to feature Mazda's new style style, 'KODO - Heart of Motion'. Primary Designer, Masashi Nakayama says: "With the
CX-5, our focus was on showing a powerful feeling of energy and speed. We looked at video clips of cheetahs; their nimble work and how they use their system as a spring to improve rapidly and change the direction immediately. They ooze great energy throughout their system. Influenced by their efficient yet wonderful actions, we targeted to push the SUV appearance to new levels with KODO style terminology."
The outside style features strong style that at the same time discloses SUV-like security and features with Mazda's feature feeling of energy and speed. Inside, Mazda designed a driver-oriented cottage with strong style that shows the
Mazda CX-5's strength and higher hardness.
The website line-up for the Western requirements CX-5 will involve Mazda�s SKYACTIV-G 2.0 energy website and SKYACTIV-D 2.2 diesel-powered website available in Standard Energy and High Energy editions. Each website has a record-breaking pressure rate of 14:1 for ideal performance. Mazda focused on reaching remarkable ecological performance for a stream-lined SUV and targeted CO2 pollutants of less than 120g/km for the SKYACTIV-D 2.2 website style.2

The new style terminology was first presented in 2010 with the SHINARI idea, a 4-door sports vehicle designed by the style team led by Ikuo Maeda, General Supervisor Design Category of Mazda Business. The Shinari features all elements of style of the KODO style and was followed by the MINAGI idea car, a stream-lined cross-over SUV that was the precursor of present-day Mazda CX-5, the first mass technology car that fully is applicable KODO style.
The
Mazda CX-5 is also the first technology style to display Mazda�s new style style, �KODO � Heart of Motion�, which was previewed with the Mazda SHINARI and Mazda MINAGI idea automobiles. Unique styles of KODO style involve a popular new front view with a more vivid family face and energetic style that provides a powerful feeling of energy and speed.
